My brain is flooded with new and exciting information right now.

BMA Engage is in full swing and we’ve just finished day one of some really thought-provoking presentations – from folks like Fred Wiersema, an ISBM fellow and author of The Discipline of Market Leaders and Customer Intimacy, and even Beth Comstock, Chief Marketing Officer of GE.

The panel discussion on Engaging the Business Buyer in the Near Future was incredibly fascinating.  That last link is a recap post from Brent Brotine.  It’s well done.  Check it out.

Following the close of the discussion, I was privileged to  have a few minutes with Jim Lecinski, Managing Director of U.S. Sales & Service for the search Goliath, Google.

Here’s what he had to say:

What’s your take on Jim’s comments?  Are you using Google to its full extent in your business?  And just how important is video to your B2B marketing efforts?

LOVE video interviews because it really helps get people interested in the content as opposed to throwin' out a text wall like I have a bad tendency to do…

Anyways, it's great you got the opportunity to talk with Jim and it's awesome you decided to share that with all of us.

Speaking of the use of the word “engage” several times, have you read Engage! by Brian Solis?

Thanks for the comment Adam. I've not yet read Brian's book, but I want to. My friend Becky Johns actually tweeted him from the conference and got him to send a few copies to give away. He's a cool guy.

I just picked it up the other day and so far it's really changed a lot of stuff I previously thought about social media (of course you started it with the Sales Symposium, haha!). Hopefully I'll have more of it done by the time I get home so I'll definitely let you know what I think.

Again, keep up the great blog!
