Part of my mission in 2010 is learning about a variety of Columbus-based businesses and then sharing what I learn with you. My hope is that you might find a snippet of information or even a resource that you can use down the road in your own business strategy.
Thanks to Josh Platt, I had the opportunity to tour MediaSource yesterday. MediaSource is a Columbus, Ohio firm that specializes in media content production and distribution. The place was jammed full of high-end, geeky technology and talented people. I got to meet some savvy specialists, like Kristen Bailey Wilson, who are masters of media relations and doing some great work leveraging the cycle of social media content to traditional media content. I was also impressed with the uber talented motion and graphic artist Christopher Mead – and how many hats he has the ability to wear.
What’s cool is that the MediaSource headquarters is actually located in the renovated Arlington Theater in Grandview Heights, a small suburb right outside of downtown Columbus. (You’ll see me completely mess this up in the video and call it the Grandview Theater. Sorry.)
Make Media Easy to Distribute
I’m all about making things easy. Do you want to know how you can improve your chances of getting your media content picked up by traditional media outlets? Make it easy for them to pick it up. Being a resident guru, Josh shares some of the secrets that he and his firm use to get the attention of broadcast outlets…
If you can’t view this video, watch it on my YouTube Channel.
What did we miss? What other ideas do you have to make it easier for media outlets, bloggers and consumers to pick up (and spread) your content?
