I have something I’d like to share with you today. Mark Whitman, of Columbus-based TeamBuilder Search, and I are teaming up. Here’s the scoop.
I think it’s important to mention what led to this partnership. It’s pretty simple. I work hard on maintaining my networks and being helpful. Sometimes, that’s meant helping business owners find the right people for a job, and on the flip side, helping to connect my friends to job opportunities. That process can take a fair amount of time and so when I met Mark, I started connecting him where I could. Why? I liked him, and the way he conducted business. Mark became someone I trust. I started sending him candidates and a few companies who I thought he could help. And after doing this a few times, Mark emailed me and offered to pay me for making the effort. That’s cool, and I think it’s a testament to his level of integrity.
I’m seriously excited for the opportunity to work with Mark and TeamBuilder Search. What really impresses me about TeamBuilder (aside from Mark’s integrity and expertise) is his firm’s process. Mark and I will share some of that process using my blog in the coming months, so stay tuned if you’re interested to learn.
But for now…
Here’s How I Can Help Candidates
If you’re a candidate looking for an interactive position, either on the client side or in agencies, I’d like to meet you. Because Mark’s time is valuable, I only want to send him people with whom I’ve had enough time to build a relationship. Relationships always come first so if you want to discuss how TeamBuilder Search can possibly help you, be ready to invest in a relationship first.
I want to make sure that TeamBuilder Search focuses on candidates who have clear objectives and have thought through what they want in a career. I’ll take the time to work with anyone who is willing to make that effort because, frankly, I believe their are critical things that job seekers need to consider before EVER applying for a position. Tons of people helped me along the way, so now it’s my chance to keep the good karma spreading. I won’t get paid to do this and that’s OK. The chance at a deeper relationship with you is worth the investment of my time. (Disclosure: Mark will pay me a little bit of money if you end up finding a job through TeamBuilder Search.)
Here’s How I Can Help Companies
In doing this, I’m learning Mark’s process on how to build out interactive agencies and interactive departments from one of the brightest and most successful marketing executives in the Columbus area. That’s a cool opportunity for me as I continue to develop my skills.
So, if you are in my network, and considering how you can build or enhance your interactive offering, or even if you have a permanent hole to fill, let’s sit down and chat. You have my promise that it won’t be a sales pitch. I can help you by sharing my expertise, the lessons Mark is teaching me, and if the time is right and you have a need, I’ll introduce you to Mark so you can do business with him. (Disclosure: Mark will pay me a small percentage of the first year of revenue from any clients I send him that sign up.)
What do you think? Sound fair?
